The Snowspeeder was a modified T-47 Airspeeder used by the Rebel Alliance on Hoth during The Empire Strikes Back. Already out of production for nearly a decade, the airspeeder was winterized and militarized with additional armor plating, laser cannons, and the rear-facing harpoon and tow cable that became its most recognizable feature.
This MOC recreates the sleek, wedge-shaped profile and includes four articulating air brake flaps that can be positioned for flight or landing, along with detailed cooling fins and repulsorlift housings. The cockpit interior features distinct flight controls for both the pilot and the rear-facing gunner. The build works well as a display model but is sturdy enough for hands-on play.
It’s a common assumption, but the Snowspeeder was actually gray, not white. While LEGO has traditionally released it in white, the on-screen filming models used a pale gray finish that often read as white under Hoth’s bright lighting in The Empire Strikes Back. Because both interpretations have strong followings, I’ve created instructions for both color schemes, along with options for Luke’s Rogue Leader color scheme.
I’ve designed five custom Incom T-47 variants, spanning the civilian models sold in both consumer and commercial forms across the galaxy, the Hidden Path conversion seen in Obi-Wan Kenobi, and the Rebel Alliance’s iconic Snowspeeder on Hoth, along with its desert-tuned Sandspeeder counterpart.
