Working With The Piracy Scanner

Our scanner uses AI to search major marketplaces such as Amazon, Alibaba, and eBay. We generate highly relevant search terms that are most likely to match or overlap with your MOC, helping us identify potential copies.

While AI allows us to scan efficiently at scale, we can’t guarantee 100% accuracy. That said, our goal is to deliver the most reliable results possible, and we continuously improve our detection models to catch as many pirated designs as we can.

The scanner performs best with niche MOCs or designs that don’t closely resemble products from large, established brands. These cases typically produce clearer and more actionable results.

Each scan run checks one MOC you choose. To keep operating costs manageable, you can only start a new scan after a waiting period. That period begins at four weeks between scans. As your reputation on OpenStuds increases, the wait shortens (for example to about two weeks, then about one week at higher tiers). The exact timing is shown on your profile where you launch scans.
