OpenStuds Platform Fees

Stripe applies a standard processing fee to each transaction. This fee is charged directly to you and is separate from the OpenStuds platform fee.

To support the ongoing development and operation of OpenStuds, a 12% platform fee is applied to each paid marketplace sale. The same normal platform fee also applies to paid commission-request payments.

As your reputation score increases, you become eligible for reduced platform fee rates on your MOCs. Strong performance and positive engagement are rewarded with more favorable terms.

We believe everyone should have the opportunity to create and share their designs. Therefore, we fully support uploading MOCs free of charge.

One contributor can be invited through direct messages. For each collaborative sale, the original creator’s reputation rate determines the OpenStuds platform fee. The agreed percentage is then applied to net creator proceeds after that platform fee and the actual Stripe processing fee. The contributor’s share is rounded down to whole cents and the original creator receives the remainder.

Accepted split changes affect only checkout sessions created afterward. If a contributor is explicitly unable to receive a Stripe transfer, their payout for that sale is $0 and the creator pool goes to the original creator. Refunds reverse transfers proportionally; disputes may trigger a protective reversal that is restored if the dispute is won.
