About this build

This MOC has been verified as buildable by its designer.

-Credit goes to Daniel-Jenssen for the amazing wing gearbox concept: https://www.reddit.com/r/legostarwars/comments/1m6nrj8/automatic_wings_anakin_interceptor/ -Credit also goes to Brick Silver for inspiring the proportions and front cannons.

There are lots of great Jedi Interceptor designs out there, but once I saw the aforementioned design on Reddit, I knew I would have to try and incorporate such a mechanism into my improved Eta-2. -Video showing S-foils demonstration on my design: https://youtu.be/Y1F1JNKoaVk

The standout feature of this build allows you to extend and retract the 4 S-foils in a synchronized manner by rotating the engines, but this build was also meant to be a major improvement compared to Lego's own Jedi Interceptors. I shrunk down the wings, tiled them off, and improved underside and cockpit shaping. The cockpit uses a double hinge to open due to the gears attached to the engines, but it is quite a sturdy assembly. Since the underside proportions have been overhauled, the astromech's body cannot fit inside the ship.

Includes instructions and parts lists for: -Anakin's yellow Interceptor (Ep. III) -Anakin's green Interceptor (Ep. III) -Obi Wan's Red Interceptor (Ep. III) -Obi Wan's Blue Interceptor (Ep. III) -Ahsoka's Interceptor (The Clone Wars)

Notes: Stand shown in MOC images is available as a separate free instruction, and is not included in the part lists. Parts 5091 and 5092 are currently not available in dark red, meaning Obi-Wan and Ahsoka's interceptors use reddish brown versions. These could optionally be painted or stickered with the correct color. If those pieces become available, I will update the part lists. Minifigures and astromech droid heads are not included in the part lists. If you want to build some interceptors but not others, individual parts lists are provided. If you own one of the Lego interceptors already (especially Ahsoka's, since my design uses >25% of the parts from the official set) I recommend repurposing parts to reduce the cost if you can. The only parts list to include a sticker sheet is Ahsoka's, since older sticker sheets can be almost impossible to find. I recommend using pre-stickered parts or reproductions for the other interceptors. Stickered fleet symbols can be used instead of the printed ones in the inventory. This is what I used when building, since stickered versions were included in the 2014 Jedi Interceptor. Some parts are a little fragile, but nothing too bad. Can be moderately played with for sure. 3-point landing gear can retract but also can be removed entirely. If the gears at the back get stuck easily, try removing the rear landing gear when rotating the engines. Pay attention to all warnings and indicators in the instructions. Do not use 3L universal joints in the wing driveshafts, as they will not work. Always use the 4L version. If you choose to purchase these instructions, I really appreciate your support! Please don't hesitate to contact me with any questions.
