The design is based on the BLUEBRIXX midsize BIRD OF PREY 104956. It is highly recommended to own this kit and use it as a parts donor, as some of the included parts are very difficult (but not impossible) to obtain separately. Since BLUEBRIXX no longer holds the Star Trek license and is no longer allowed to sell these ships, acquiring this set via marketplaces like eBay is the only way.
