Hello and welcome! I bring you a MOC I’ve been eager to share since I began working on it; my Starkiller Speech Minifigure Display, inspired from Richboyjhae’s own Starkiller build which he finished 2021. I have personally always been impressed with his work since I started following and his love for the material and the Star Wars universe shines through in his MOCs. This model has been physically built and tested.

Rebrickable says I have to include what exactly I'm referring to as inspiration for my MOC, so here are links to the first video in RBJ's Build series and RBJ's video tour through his final MOC.

When I saw TFA in theaters, I wanted to have some kind of representation of Starkiller Base in some way in my collection. I didn’t have a lot of experience in MOC making at the time and I wasn’t used to building digitally yet, it was more casual still. It became a dream project I never really thought I could actually achieve. Some years pass and I begin watching RBJ, I got exposed to his stuff around the beginning of his Vardos series.

More time passes and he announces the start of his Starkiller Base series, and I was hyped. When he finished the stage, I thought it was super impressive. I eventually got the idea to make something like a playset version of the stage inspired from his build. He focused on authenticity to the movie and worked to capture as many details as he could. I tried to approximate and simplify some of those details within the smaller scope of my MOC. I did not capture everything there was to see around the stage area, nor did I focus on getting proportions right. I just wanted something that felt like it was that assembly on Starkiller Base.

The full build is 12x12 inches for the base and 14 inches for the backdrop. I split the build into two parts, the first being the main stage and the second is the troop assembly or the audience for the speech. The second part is guided into the base of the main stage with 4 black axels, not to fully connect the two halves together, just to align the display comfortably. I won't include troops or figures in the parts list, but in the instructions, I leave orange 1x2 tiles where I suggest figures could if you have some to spare. At the time of publishing this MOC, I still don't have all the figs I want for my display, so I used placeholder skeletons. Honestly, I think just it's just fun adding figures to this display and lining them up. I don't think if you get this and build it you should take it too seriously either, it already isn't 100% accurate so no harm no foul, right?

The tan parts can be any color and don't show up in the final build. There are three total xml parts lists included with the instructions, one for each of the building phases just to make managing 2200+ parts a little easier.

I've been debating with myself about publishing this MOC and I still feel a tinge of hesitance, but I have enough confidence in my work that I think this can be a great model on its own. I guess time will tell. I hope people really enjoy this project and I'm excited to see how this turns out. If there are any questions, please ask. Until next time, happy building!
