The T-55A was an improved variant of the earlier T-54/55 series of Soviet medium tanks, with the main improvement being the addition of a better NBC protection system, receiving anti-radiation lining and a chemical filtration system. These would be produced in the USSR (and Poland) from 1963-1981 and be widely exported across the world, still seeing active service in current conflicts.
