A modified version of the EF76 Nebulon-B escort frigate, the Imperial Patrol Frigate is a 300-meter vessel employed by the Galactic Empire for patrol and reconnaissance duties.

Its defining feature is an enormous sensor array, extending up to 30 kilometers from the vessel. Designed to detect cloaked ships, intercept hyperspace signals, and track vessels across several light-hours of space, the array greatly enhances the frigate's ability to monitor vast areas of Imperial territory. The vessel can also carry two squadrons of TIE/In fighters and two TIE bombers, allowing it to serve as a transport for starfighters or deploy them to support reconnaissance operations. When the sensor array is deployed, the frigate must travel at low speeds, making its TIE complement particularly useful for providing protection while it conducts surveillance.

This combination of long-range detection capabilities and embarked starfighters makes it a versatile asset for Imperial patrol and reconnaissance missions.
