Deep Purple Heron!

This has been a challenging project and required a lot of work, but I’m especially happy that I managed to turn such a complex build into clear, simple and easy-to-follow instructions.

It is one of my largest MOCs so far, and definitely one of the most striking. With its tall silhouette, distinctive colours and elegant posture, I think it works equally well for birdwatching and nature enthusiasts, or simply as a display piece on a shelf.

Some of its key features:

• Accurate colours and markings: I paid particular attention to recreating the distinctive colour pattern of the Purple Heron as faithfully as possible.

• Poseability: the model can be adjusted in several ways, especially around the head, wings and legs, allowing you to give the bird different expressions and poses.

• Two different wing configurations: the instructions include both options. You can build the heron with closed wings for a more compact look and maximum stability, or with open wings for a much more dramatic and impressive display.

• A detailed display base: designed to complete the model and give it context, without stealing attention from the bird itself.

I really hope you’ll enjoy building it as much as I enjoyed designing it. It has been one of my most ambitious projects so far, and I genuinely feel it is also one of my most successful.
