About this build

The Republic Y wing, the fully armored and combat ready version of the Y wing, with its distinctive yellow markings and fully covered chassis. This moc takes a step up from others with the use of the snot technique and many other angled parts to get the most accurate version possible at this scale while not being overly complicated. No landing gear but it is built to support itself and there is a hole for a stand to slot into (2x2). Most of the structure is made of large technic bricks for the most sturdy experience and maximum swoosh ability. The Engines are also built uniquely being set at a 45 degree angle with built in greebling and as many smooth details as I could pack into this build. The Y wing is also one of my favorite star wars ships! You can place an astromech head on the gray circle behind the cockpits, which themselves fit 2 minifigures and has a rotatable turret at the top! The most expensive piece is the dune ornithopter cockpit piece. This is the most accurate for the Y wing and hopefully Lego makes more use of it soon.  Also, it's easy to color swap in bricklink for other variants like blue and red.  Dimensions:

  • 8.6 in / 21.8 cm wide

  • 15.7 in / 39.9 cm long

  • 2.5 in / 6.2 cm tall
