About this build

This MOC has been verified as buildable by its designer.

Starting as a modification to the humble holiday gingerbread AT-AT, this MOC comes into its own by completely transforming the base design into one withgreat display-ability and first of its kind play features with a removable cargo crate and destructible hull. While this MOC was originally based on 40806, it takes a new turn with longer legs and body, better shaping and accurate detailing from Rogue One, including an amazing play feature that is well hidden. A minifigure can stand inside of the open hull of the AT-ACT without the crate; but in favor of accuracy, there is not room inside the cockpit. But there is a small "pilots" Easter egg.

The head can be adjusted and rotated with the ball joint connection. Legs retain pose ability and with a whole new design the ankles are more accurate too. The removable cargo container is held inside the walker with a clever friction mechanism that takes advantage of a tire piece for elasticity. The crate itself uses the same technique for the side panels on the original gingerbread AT-AT as there was no need to change. It also allows for extra crates within, including 4 unique boxes held in with jumper plates for easy removal.  The main feature of this MOC is the collapse-able hull; in the battle of Scarif, one walker without the crate in the middle is shot at. Subsequently, the weaker structure is destroyed, breaking the walker in half. This MOC can do the same with ball joints and a small technic connection that allows it to stay together unless purposefully brought apart. In lieu of this, the build has been enforced with technic beams for the greatest stability, close to that of a real Lego set.
